Every Rose has its.... Octopus?

Writer's picture: Nicole DeRoyNicole DeRoy

🐙 🌹 I've gone through a lot this past year, kind of like this painting...

Shifting, transforming, and changing direction.

Oftentimes when I decide to draw something I go into it blindly. I just sit in silence, open to receive from Spirit.

Drawing is a form of meditation, it quiets the mind and allows creativity to flow THROUGH us.

The octopus, fittingly enough, is a symbol of adaptability, intelligence, transformation and connection to the divine feminine.

Roses carry the energy of love (often of the self), balance and growth.

The eyes being detached and held, to me, represent foresight and the ability to surrender and trust, without having control or clarity about what the path will look like, but rather knowing that like a lantern in the darkness, it will slowly reveal the way.

Reflecting on the last 12 months, this couldn't be more accurate for me. I'm always in awe of the symbology that is given to me through inspiration, and how it can apply to my journey.

I'm so open to the majesty of this life, and my heart is so full of a renewed sense of vigor and gratitude.

So hey, I hope you enjoyed this, and if you've read this far, thank you!
