How I started Ceremonial Tattooing...

My healing journey may sound familiar....

For years I was lost. I found myself in over a decade dealing with chronic pain and autoimmune diseases. Doctors passed me around like a hot potato, no one could seem to give me any answers, just continued racking up medical bills and experiencing all the different ways modern medicine can test and examine the human body. I used to joke that I felt like I was living in an ongoing episode of House MD but without the breakthroughs.

I've had scopes literally everywhere, imaging and X-rays, ultrasounds, invasive surgery...The solution was always "here's some pills, you can treat the symptoms..." I kept racking up blanket diagnoses; "Inflammatory Bowel Disease", "Fibromyalgia", "Auto Immune Neutropenia", "Neuropathy"...

I started collecting tattoos as a means to reclaim my body and mental health, a pain I was actually in control of, instead of it controlling me. They helped bring me joy and assisted me in feeling more comfortable in the body that seemed to be constantly rejecting itself.

One day I found Reiki, a gentle energetic holistic healing modality. My first experience was profound and I felt lighter. I finally started getting some answers, I felt more able to advocate for myself, I started receiving intuitive hits on what to look for to start finding actual answers.

I discovered hormonal health was a major problem, and after learning that debilitating, painful and heavy periods, while common, was not "normal" ... finally got diagnosed with endometriosis. I also found out after extensive diagnostic cardiac testing continually coming back "normal" and given a Western Blot test, that I had late-stage Lyme disease that went untreated for God knows how many years. Doctors were unwilling and unable to help me due to regulatory standards dictated by the CDC.

I had to resort to holistic methods to find relief and finally achieve remission. This was the beginning of my spiritual awakening. I started attending local healing ceremonies, and started getting in touch with myself at a deeper level, bringing my shadows to light and unearthing all the energetic healing needed to be done. This was just part of the work, alongside overhauling my entire lifestyle and relearning what it meant to be nourished with guidance from Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioners.

Decades of damage to my nervous system had me completely dysregulated. Meditation became a regular practice in order to cope. I eventually learned Reiki myself, and now incorporate it into my tattooing. I've been diving deep into neo shamanism, hermeticism, and other schools of esoteric spiritual philosophy. Learning the multitude of what energy is and how we're all connected has given me a greater clarity of how energetic the act of tattooing is.

And so I developed this practice of holding space for others through tattoo. I'm so excited to go on this journey together.

🩵 In my intuitive ceremonial tattoo sessions, we use a Shamanic practice as a consultation to call in your guides and receive messaging to inspire a unique talismanic tattoo design.

🩵 Essentially with the ceremonial tattoo, the ceremony doubles as a consultation!

🩵 We work the energy with oracle and tarot cards to co-create an intention and based on that intention and the messages that come through, we collaborate together on a tattoo design that infuses that intention and energy into the tattoo.

🩵 This helps solidify that intention into your life as well as act as a permenant talisman to remind you of that point in your journey and how to stand in your truth.

🩵 Is the unknown design process not for you? Alternatively I can always add reiki infusion and intention setting to a custom request or flash tattoo at any time.
